Manage Anxiety

Let go of anxious thoughts and engage more confidently with the world.

What does anxiety feel like for you? Do you become tense and nervous? Or is it more internal, like repetitive irrational thoughts? Is anxiety affecting your work performance? Your personal life?

My own anxiety — grown since birth — could get so overwhelming that my brain literally took me down. You know the phrase “fight, flight, freeze, or faint”? Well, that’s exactly what my anxiety would tell my body to do: Faint. Not a particularly convenient response, but it was my brain’s hard reset.

I’ve passed out everywhere. Singing in a church choir performance when I was nine. On my wedding day. On Capitol Hill. At holiday dinners. At other people’s weddings. In unfamiliar locations. Even the West Wing of the White House.

With every anxiety attack, a tiny voice inside me said, “There’s a better way to live.” Finally, I listened to that little voice. I got help.

I have such a deep respect for my clients, who, in their work, often successfully build others up while dealing with their own internal fears and lack of confidence. Who show up even when they’re exhausted. Who work toward an inclusive, positive vision for society but may lack inspiration in their own lives.

But a more meaningful, more purposeful, more intentional life is possible. There is a freedom that awaits once you control self-doubt and worry. Let’s work together to break through the anxious, negative thoughts that might be holding you back. Utilizing positive psychology techniques, we can explore your beliefs, the mind-body connection, and begin what’s sure to be an exhilarating journey toward your future.
